The press reads consciousness broadly: not as a self-help subgenre, but as the kind of careful attention a writer brings to the experience of being a person inside a system. The shortest working definition is the one Daniel J Henry uses in the society-and-ecology lane — strategies as ecologies, identities as colonies, the dominant narrative as the nutrient base. We expect more volumes to land here as the slate grows.
